The Internet Hub (also known as the SkyFi) project was completed in 2026.
Our goal is to provide fast and reliable internet access during emergencies or extended outages, such as bushfires and heatwaves.
These systems offer reliable, high-speed connectivity for multiple users, ensuring communities can stay connected when it matters most.
We also deliver customised digital education and training solutions tailored for clubs, community groups, and not-for-profit organisations, helping communities build confidence and skills online.
We use the latest satellite LEO (Low-Earth Orbit) technology to deliver fast and reliable internet connections to run events and workshops to communities in need. Our portable connection provides maximum speed and coverage, ensuring that our communities have a seamless internet experience when most needed. Use #SkyfiAu to follow us on socials.
“Community Connections”.
In collaboration with local community groups, the pilot program was tested across five locations, including the Eurobodalla, Shoalhaven and Riverina regions, following the Black Summer bushfires.
The South Coast Health and Sustainability Alliance has secured funding through to 2026 to support twelve local Heatwave Havens, upgrading them with high-speed satellite internet access points.
Training and ongoing support will be provided to participating Havens over the next three years, ensuring communities are prepared, connected and resilient.
